2016 Emmy Predictions – February

American_Crime_Story_Screenshot_600_by_4002016 Emmy Predictions – February

It was about time that I got these done! But even with the 2016 Emmys only a little over half a year away every thing is still fairly blurry, especially the Limited Series/TV Movie categories.

Unlike the Golden Globes, the Emmys aren’t really compelled to go with new series, it’s actually quite rare for a new series to join the club off its first season. So a lot of these predictions are naturally within the comfort zone of the Academy.

Here they are and visit our page for updated predictions:

Emmys: Final Predictions – 2015

Transparent-Recap-108Emmys: Final Predictions – 2015

On September 20th the 2015 Primetime Emmy award ceremony will begin.

It’s been about three or four years since I started predicting the Emmys, and it’s honestly one of the most difficult ones to predict.

Last night the Creative Arts Emmys were announced for all of the extraordinarily talented people behind the cameras. These are the best of the best, winning during this golden age of television.

Along with the technical awards, guest acting winners were announced, animated program, and TV Movie. We had finalized our predictions for those last night and you can see who won and how we did below.

For the main categories, Drama Series, Comedy Series, etc. It’s an all-out-brawl this year. Should be a lot of fun.

And if you’ve been visiting often, you may have noticed our poll in the sidebar. For the categories we polled we listed the current standings beneath. Voting will continue, however, right up until 2 days before the ceremony. The poll was for people’s personal picks, not their predictions.

SideNote: “Transparent” and “Modern Family” will be likely favorites for the Comedy Emmy

SideNote: “Transparent” and “Modern Family” will be likely favorites for the Comedy Emmy

Currently in our Emmy Predictions we are thinking that “Transparent” follows up their surprise Golden Globe victory with another victory at the Emmys later this year.

So could “Transparent” derail “Modern Family” from winning its sixth straight Emmy for best Comedy series? According to our recent poll, both shows tied for the top spot when readers were asked which show would come out victorious.

The Golden Globes surprised everyone by not nominating “Modern Family” for Comedy series at all last year. However, it’s easy to tell that Emmy voters love the series that is now concluding another strong season.

Other potential contenders that did well in our poll were “Veep,” “Louie,” and “Parks and Recreation.” Make of all this what you will, but for now we’ll stick to “Transparent” making a strong appearance at the Emmys. Watch out for “Veep,” “Louie,” “Silicon Valley,” and “Parks and Recreation” though.

Our new poll asks what the Best “Walt Disney Pictures” film is of this decade so far. Strong potential contenders include “Toy Story 3,” “Frozen,” and “Into the Woods.”

Emmys: Updated Predictions – April

Few things have changed since our last Emmy Predictions.  New shows like “Bloodline,” “Grace and Frankie,” “Better Call Saul,” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” have all been more widely considered in each category.

Also “Orange is the New Black” has officially been swapped over to the “Drama” categories. See how we have it fairing below:

Emmys: Updated Emmy Predictions

mad_men_final-season_teaser__trailerEmmys: Updated Emmy Predictions

The next big award show is the Primetime Emmys. It is still very early to predict these accurately, but we think we are narrowing in on many categories.

The final season of “Mad Men” should cause a stir, while new shows like “Better Call Saul” and “The Last Man on Earth” could potentially breakthrough. Not to mention the return of “Game of Thrones,” “Mad Men,” and “Modern Family.”

Emmys: 2015 Emmy Predictions – Year in Advance

house-of-cards-season-2-trailer-kevin-spaceyEmmys: 2015 Emmy Predictions – Year in Advance

Monday night was full of surprises. In the end, “Breaking Bad” swept the dramatic categories, and “Modern Family” swept the comedic categories.

“Breaking Bad” and several other shows will not be making such an impact next year. Shows like “House of Cards” and “Game of Thrones” should be able to fight off the rest in the dramatic categories, and “Modern Family” will have to stay consistent, and not be intimidated by the several new fall comedies coming out this year.

So here’s a quick look at the main categories: series, lead/supporting acting. Keep refreshing our Emmys page for more future updates and to see more contenders per category.

Predictions are listed below alphabetically, check the pages for rankings, click on the category link to get there.
