VOTW: Emma Watson in Sofia Coppola’s “The Bling Ring” Trailer

This was a tough week to pick a video, a 14-minute recap of Game of Thrones Season one and two hit youtube recently (haven’t watched it yet, but I’m certain its good) couldn’t give that the title because I already did GOT. Then a new Star Trek teaser was released that was really well edited and showed us more of what the story is.

Finally, I landed on the trailer for Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring starring Emma Watson, Taissa Farmiga, Leslie Mann and More. I really enjoyed Coppola’s Lost in Translation and ever since that film I have been watching out for her new stuff. When I first read about The Bling Ring I wasn’t impressed, needless to say this trailer gave me interest, enough to read the wikipedia article about the true story behind it.

If you search The Bling Ring on wikipedia you get the full true story of each of the members. A group of teenagers in LA formed together and would burgle the houses of celebrities, and they got a way with it a lot, for over a year. They mostly hit the house of Paris Hilton.

Emma Watson did tweet shortly after the trailers release that despite the advertisings insinuation she is not the MAIN character of the film, more like the 3rd or 4th main character. They are using her name to sell the picture, the way I am using her name in the article head to sell my article.

I now definitely would like to see this, the trailer makes it look gritty, perhaps a portrait of the pressures and habits of today’s youth. If it hits the ballpark it could even hold out for Oscar attention, but an early June release will not help.

The Bling Ring is set for a limited release June 14, 2013 in the United States. For more informations search “The Bling Ring” on IMDB.
